Day 13/30

It wasn’t hard even though I went to sleep bit late yesterday. I made it without much of a struggle.

Today morning was quite similar to yesterday. I needed to wrap up things quickly as I had to visit few people at different places for some work. Still, it became noon to wrap up work related things.

It seemed hard to manage time and prioritize stuff today because there was lot of it. After completing the work, I went with my father to meet CA for some property related matters and I also had a few questions to get sorted out.

Then I went to one bank (different than yesterday one) to inquire about opening new account as I am planning to close the account with current bank just because of their shit customer support.

I tell you, this large companies don’t realize but they loose millions of dollars just because of poor customer service. Customer service comes first than selling your product at less price or anything. As long as you are not polite with your customers, you are doomed! They got considerable options with themselves and switching to others isn’t a hard thing. The reason why Amazon is where it is today, is their amazingly awesome customer service.

Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos (He wakes up too late by the way!! 😉 ) once said, “We treat our customers as invited guests to a party, and we are the hosts. It’s our job everyday to make every important aspect of the customer experience a little better.”

The lady of this bank who disposed me the details was too polite and mannerly. Total opposite than the staff of bank I described yesterday. I know bank guys just be nice before you open your account with them, but I didn’t sense any problem there. The issues which are there with the current bank gets resolved here, that’s it.

Then I needed to go to my school (Damn! I was too excited! I was going to be there after almost 5 years 😀 ) as I had to get some documentation work done. But, when I called one of our teacher, he said, exam’s going on right now, so Saturday’s half. It was already 2:00 p.m. Plan got cancelled.

Then I thought to go to premise from where I am doing my university process. I called peon and confirmed that whether the person whom I want to meet is there or not. He replied affirmatively. Yes, I always call peon because he is my friend now and calling receptionist is tedious. Extension, blah blah and what not!

I went there and asked about further process and came back home. I was exhausted by travelling and wandering too much in the scorching heat. So, yeah, I took a nap in order to get rid off tiredness.

After that, worked for couple of hours and now ready to doze off.

Ok. So Bed’s calling.

See Ya People! 🙂

Day 12/30

Unnit Metaliya Challenge - Day 12

And he came as promised..! 😀

But, for some reasons, Day 11 was just loving to be with me. He left me too late.

Here’s what happened at yesterday night…

So after shutting my laptop down, I went to ATM around 11:30 p.m. to deposit money which my father has given me. Now, whenever I am given this task, I prefer to go around late night by thinking that there would not be many people as it is already late. But, it seemed like yesterday many people thought same and there was long queue. After waiting for a while, I thought I should not waste my time and should come early morning when no one would be there. So I came back home.

After reaching home, I went to bed. Internet was already off in my mobile and I was in no particular mood to turn it on. But I don’t know what struck me and I thought that let’s read just couple of ShowerThoughts from reddit and then go to sleep. I turned the internet on and, “God Oh God!”, I received an offer letter from my dream university mentioning that I got accepted for Master’s program.

It was such a moment of joy. 🙂

I went literally on cloud 9. I was waiting for this from last 3 months and finally it came. I directly went to other room and told my mother about this. She felt proud! I felt amazing! I was much more reluctant about this letter but, deep down inside somewhere I knew this that I will get in.

This part of my life…. is called having hope.

I posted it on WhatsApp and it then got followed by flood of wishes and “Congos”!

After that, I tried to sleep but you are speculating it right. I couldn’t. 😀

I might have made it around 2:00 a.m. I knew it’s going to be tough but on the other hand, I also knew it that I will have to do many things tomorrow and made myself prudent that I will have to make it before 5:00 a.m tomorrow (today?).

And I made it.

My mother came to me and after talking for a while, she said one sentence that made both of us bit sentimental. “Unnit”, she began, “after few months when I will be coming back home at every evening from work, there will be no one at that desk doing some work”.

Man! I got goosebumps while writing above paragraph.

This part of my life…. is called being emotional.

The day began.

After getting refreshed, I went to ATM and I will tell you, there are few people as well who think that there won’t be many people as its early morning and strangely enough, those few themselves end up being many. It happens with everyone, I am not an exception. However, the queue was quarter of what it was at night.

After coming back to home, I wrapped up the work related things as quickly as I could.

Once I got done with the work, I went to visit my bank as there’s one redundant mistake in my name and I wanted to get it corrected if possible. Bank officer refused it because of their some shitty policy. I insisted. He now denied it rudely. I thought that let’s meet branch manager. But, I will tell you, rude was the bank staff and more rude the branch manager. Shitt service.

This part of my life…. is called getting pissed off

I then went to the premise where my best friends prepare for their abroad studies to help them with it and cherish my this event (not the bank fiasco one..but the university offer one!!) along with them. And we did. I love their company and they love mine as well. It was ultimate fun. It’s always ultimate fun. 😀

This part of my life…. is called sharing happiness

Then I went to meet few other friends from network who got selected for the same university. We talked a lot about whole process and stuff. It was amazing too.

Then I came back home at late evening and had some chat with mom and dad.

Got my hands on project for a while and at the end of the day wrote this post.

On the whole, this was awesomely superb day.

‘Night World 🙂

Day 11/30

The day seemed short.

Yes, around evening, I felt that I am lacking time.

I felt somewhat similar when we feel in the last 10-15 minutes of exam when 3 long answers are yet to get written. I will tell you that, this thing has happened with me many times and hell yeah! I always managed to write draw the answers (I tried to write but it used to end up as drawing 😕) in those 10 minutes. My only goal used to be to attempt all the questions. That’s it! (On a side note, my drawing is super worse as well! If I try to draw a tree, I will end up drawing a bush!!)

Today, I woke up without an alarm and I did not feel like to go back and slumber off for a while. And yeah one more thing, I did not write about this in any of my post but right after waking up, I drink lots of water. Nearly 4-5 glasses. This thing is suggested by many doctors to follow every day. It has got so many medical benefits with it and you will experience its effect naturally if you try it.

It then got followed by getting refreshed and then?? Yes, that’s right. 😉 . “Most Important Thing First” part of the challenge.

Morning became Noon and Noon became Evening without much of realization.

One nap of around 20 minutes. Positive effects.

Tomorrow’s going to be bit of outing after noon for some work.

That was it for Day 11.

Dear Day 12, where are you and when are you coming?

Day 12: I am on my way, I can’t be sure, but I will come before 5:00 am for sure!

Have an awesome night world! 🙂

Day 10/30

Day 10 of Unnit Metaliya's Challenge

Not at all difficult.

Morning was amazingly productive and the overall day was bit hectic with having bit of fun in between. It all started with grabbing the most important thing first without getting distracted and then moving on with other less important things.

I had to go outside around noon and I was mindful of this yesterday. So, I knew it that I will have to wrap up things quickly as it wasn’t decided that after how much time would I come back from outside.

After getting the things done, I met two of my friends who are preparing for their test to encourage them about the test and help them with sharing techniques and tips as I was well aware with this particular exam and aced it with good colors. I passed considerable time with them as I seriously want them to tackle this test by scoring good as well.

Then I came back to home and got my hands on with on-going projects.

Then I have read short stories I have written in past. God! I am obsessed with my writings. I have read them like 100s of times. I always do this. I love it. Writing helps in reducing anxiety. It’s true!

After that, it continued with ‘Reading-Reading-Reading’ random posts from my favorite sites.

No! Buzzfeed, ScoopWhoop and all rookie wacky click-baity sites aren’t my favorite ones! In fact, I rarely click their ‘uncontrollable-to-click’ links.

The list of my favorite sites include…

& many others…

Couldn’t find Facebook? Well, I use it but for totally different purpose than what we used to when we were teenagers. Totally!

So, that was enough of ramble for today.

More tomorrow!

Let’s thoroughly stretch sleep this Night! 😉

Day 09/30

Day 9 of Unnit Metaliya's Challenge

Without an alarm! 🙂

I opened my eyes sharp at 4:25 a.m. without ringing of an alarm. I think my mind is naturally getting accustomed with this change. And that is all we want, don’t we?

This habit is proving itself to be an enormously beneficial change in my life. I mean before I started with this challenge, I was having merely half days with me, that too filled with full of laziness. Now, there’s nothing like that anymore. Granted, during nights I was not just wasting my time but as compared to this, that routine was needed to be changed.

Coming to this day, it was wonderful. I am getting the stuff done in a way I wanted to. What more can I ask for? I am seeing lot of progress just because of this change. I know that today I am writing a lot about this change because today I truly felt incredibly productive as compared to past 8 days of this challenge.

After around 4:00 p.m, I was all free. Hence, I started with the task I promised yesterday. Garbage Cleaning! On a side note, I really don’t transfer or store garbage and let it be there in my computer but some stuff which was awesome when I transferred has no value or meaning as it was having at the time when I stored and now became useless. For example, Google I/O 2014, iPhone 5s Launching Event, TechCrunch Disrupt Start-Up Battlefield etc. I have deleted numbers of movies, songs, videos, games and countless other things as well.

Take a look. Both are blue now! 😀

Yesterday, there was only 5.88 GB of space available, which now is 66.2 GB!

Now, that’s some deletion!

Besides, my computer was infected with New Folder Virus. An annoying virus which makes .exe file inside the folders with the same name of the folder. It is simple virus which technically does almost no harm to your computer. It’s just elementary virus which you can remove even by delete function but its size is 1.1 mb.

I checked property of my drive and found that there were around 13000 folders. Which means there should be around 13000 New Folder virus files. Right? Which means 13 GB space was eaten up only by this virus???

13 GB of space occupied only by viruses on a Computer Science Graduate’s PC?

That’s Shame!!

Manually deleting all the files would have been laborious and next to impossible. So, without wasting a second, I searched about it on Google but found no satisfactory results. Everybody was mentioning some shitty tools which would do nothing but bring more junk to your drives. I did not opt for that.

Instead, I tried one JUGAAD (Yes!! The word Jugaad has its Wikipedia Page!!).

Here’s what my JUGAAD was:

I typed “*.exe” in the search box of my drive, which showed all the .exe files. Then, I sorted it with “Date Modified” because I guessed that virus would have got created on same day and guess what? My guess was right. 😀

I then selected all the folder.exe files which were having the size of 1.1 mb and deleted all of them. There were around only 6000 of it instead of 13000.

That was it.

This was also something I wanted to do since college-time. To clean up my PC! But, as I was world-class procrastinator back then, this was not something I would do. Now, finally it’s done.

See you tomorrow.

Till then Chill 😎
